MIXING PATTERNS, MIXING DRINKS

Blouse - H&M
Skirt - thrifted
Shoes - STHLM DG

Somtimes when I buy things that need to be fixed a bit they susually end up in a bag in the back of my closet for ages. So I'm really glad that I fixed the skirt that I got last week this soon - even though I accidentally made it a bit shorter than I ment to.. (over-romanticied drawing of this skirt posted earlier here).

Well, over to the headline. I've never been much of a patternmixer, but I had my dotted cardigan and the skirt hanging on the chair toghether and somehow liked the mix of dots and chekcs.

So I ended up wearing both, I don't know, I think it works even though in general it shouldn't?

Then I met up with my sister and the guys from the labour-work I've mentioned here every now and then and we had liters and liters of strawberry margheritas, mexican beer and a whole lot of nachos. And it was something like this:

Well, except for the lapdance.
And we had no stuntman Mike either.
Maybe just mostly for the music, if even that.
Or for the mexican beers.

And yes, I have a slight headache today.

You are so funny! I think that we have very similar taste in a lot of things! God know I love me some margaritas! I love the cardi with the skirt, mixing patterns can be tricky but you have done it right!

i'm kinda shy when it comes to pattern mixing, too, although i almost always think it looks great when i see it on others. your outfit is no exception: you look superb!
and that sounds like a great night!

That's one way to describe a night! I like the mix of patterns, I think it works.

"The woods are lovely, dark and deep. But I have promises to keep. And miles to go before I sleep. Did you hear me Butterfly? Miles to go before you sleep."
My Saturday night was pretty much the same, well without stuntman Mike, but with the lapdance.
And the mixed patterns look awesome!

Mixing patterns works surprisingly. Your night sounded good, even if you didn't have Stuntman Mike. Kurt Russell is so hot in the film!

I believe the artist for the Decemberists site is Carson Ellis of Little Green House, site here: http://littlelittlegreenhouse.blogspot.com/
I really love his site, I just wish he would share more drawings with us!

SublimelyTrendoid : it seems so, we do have similar taste :)

Annabananna & TheClothesHores : thank you

Mateo : Haha, that sounds great! :)

Hello!: Yeah you're right. It's better to just go with it. In the end I'm not sure it would matter if it wouldn't really match

Wendy : thanks, but I really wouldn't have mixed these two if they wouldn't have been on the chair togheter. Quite the coincidence.

Lil' puch : Thanks :)

Ina : yeah. umm...we should go out and do one of them mexican nights aswell. or, just then go to Heinähattu and play the jukebox all night long and drink cheaper beer then mexican.

MrsMunster : yup, he was pretty hot -until he got all creepy (and he was still quite hot after that too).

I always do that, stuff that no one would put together because patterns don't go.
Who's to say what's go or not, right?
I like mixing gingham and dots at the moment...

And it works. Pity you miss out on the lapdance though.

Ha! They filmed that in a bar I go to. Saturday nights are The nights for a potent Texas Tea at the Chili Parlor...if you're ever in town that is : )
