BRING IT ON

I have bought myself a pair of winter boots.

They feel quite robust compared to what I normally wear so I wasn't sure at first but then again they are winter boots , they are supposed to be a bit heavy. And they're still rather slim on the foot plus have a nice firm heel. Makes me think of old school skiing boots!

I also got myself a pair of warm tweed pants. (Pants! Me! Again! What's going on here? I guess I go both ways now, dresses skirts and pants...).

This makes me pretty well prepared for whatever winter has up it's sleeve this year. So bring it on I say, bring it on.

Two pairs of boots, two pairs of trousers, what is the world coming to?!?! :)

I've just gotten a nice wool tweed coat with a furry liner and a black wool pea coat at a vintage shop in town, and just in time! It's been -9 C during my bike ride to work the last two days. I could really use some good boots though, my feet get really cold.

Those ones are a good balance of functional and elegant, it seems - and they go well with the tweed :)

Looks like those winter boots still have a heel. Some things haven't changed, eh?

Gorgeous winter shoes! Talking about old skiing shoes, when I was a kid my aunt used to have old white leather skiing shoes with red lacing. I always admired them and wanted to have similar. Now I have actually seen in magazines highheeled shoes that are designed to the style of those old skiing shoes. I wish I could get one pair of those...

I love your new shoes. My favorite are shoes with such lacing and a firm heel. Sometimes I feel that here in case you find a nice pair of winter shoes, there are plenty of those same shoes walking around in the city.

They do have an old-fashioned ski boot look. Cool!

But . . . I need to see the heel . . . a side view . . . and some commentary about the very large zipper on side of boot!

These boots really make sense. And they remind me of the time I was wearing long brown suede lace-up boots (with no side zippers )and entering Paris from the De Gaulle airport in the middle of a security scare. I was made to take them off in front of a frowning queue of annoyed would-be passengers. I tried to tell the guard it would take ages to undo those laces but hey, he just looked me up & down & said there was no rush. I could just imagine what the other people were saying to my back!

Melancholic Optimist : Those jackets sound nice! And minus nine, whoah, I canät bike when it's that cold, my head can't take it even if wearing a cap!

Rhia : Oh yeah that sound good, hope you find some!

Nanile : True, but nowadays I don't care to have the same item as a lot of other people in town, as long as I combine it with my own stuff, that I like, it still appears different :)

Anonymous : Well I could do without the zipper :)

Fairy Filigree : Oh no, that's a fun anecdote now afterwards but must have been rather painful back then...

well come on, obviously these photos do not temper my curiosity! can't we have a good shot of the pants? and the shoes as well please? can't really judge like this haha. that's the fun part of your blog, it's kinda like internet shopping without buying - instead YOU buy it hahaha!

But otherwise you know, you can't always show all at once. Eventual photos will follow, at some point, in some posts, with various outfits ;)

Are those boots from DinSko? I think I have a similar pair :) They're very comfortable for walking and I quite like the shape and the lacing, but I really wish they didn't have that zipper... ^^
