SOME THINGS I'VE COME ACROSS LATELY

You know, come across as in bought.

A bamboo tray found in an antique strore.

A mint condition bag from Pretty Damn Cute.

With a complimentary mirror inside.

And last but not least-
-a 1958 Blaupunkt radio Cabinet!
It also has a built-in but removable record player, but we haven't fixed the electricity chords to see if it works yet.

It serves as a kitsch-y liquor cabinet as well!

We found this at an antique store out of town; Fasaani. We went there only looking for "something small and absolutely no bigger furniture as it will soon get crowded at home". Now this piece was not exactly small, but we just couldn't leave it there.

Even though the piece has a few decades of tobacco smoke impregnated into it Lulu does no seem to mind. I have had to clean it quite a bit though.

That radio cabinet is gorgeous! We found a 1930's/40's radio and record player cabinet on craigslist here a few years back that only plays 78 rpm records, and the people who had it couldn't figure out how to make the record player work, so they gave it to us half price ($50), and after getting it home, we figured it out :)

We also got with it, the record "I Walk The Line" by Johnny Cash :)

That bamboo tray is wonderful too, and I love the little tumbler glasses.

Hi,

I buy old danish modern furniture that also sometimes smells a bit smoky.... i recommend rubbing lavender essential oil into the inside of it (ie where it cannot be seen).

Cool piece

The liquor cabinet is absolutely stunning. It's so nice when your home is still empty and you can buy new (even if antique) furniture there. I'm in a progress trying to de-cluttering my home. Never ending task!

Dave : oh, what a great find, with the record and all. And what a record :D

Mrs.Munster : tell me about it, nebver ending task indeed!

The Black Opal : I certainly will, but it's a but messy in our living room right now, hence no pics with larger view :D

Liz : :)

Miss Smis : it's a 50's design by Birger Kaipiainen, "Ken kiuruista kaunein". Tapettitalo sells it, it's produced by Tapettitehdas that print old wallpaper.

Woah! I missed this post somehow (& the bag from my shop!). I've had a great luck finding things for myself lately. Just hope my hubby doesn't figure out why Etsy isn't making me more money ('cause I spend almost all of it on things for me!).
