THEMED AND PAIRED

A while ago Eddi and I went to a theme party.
And you know what? I absolutely love theme parties! Especially if you can do the whole thing in such a way you can really get all dressed up but one can't really tell, because you might just look like that all of the time.*

And you know another thing? How am I ever going to be able to go out again not wearing a vintage gold lamée dress with perfectly matching shoes and bag. And oversized hair. Hmmm.

*) Although in this case, the theme being something like 'dress up like your grandparents did when they were your age' would maybe have been too little of a thing for me as, well, you know - that's pretty much what I look like all the time. So we did dress up like my grandparent's could've done at the time when they were Eddis age instead. Compromise!

I'm loving that hair on you; hair tutorial please! :) Don't you think, your Eddi looks like James Mason in that picture? I usually think he resembles Morrissey.

You look so completely wonderful!

Thanks! But I' m not sure about the tutorial as this is not a usual look of mine...However, might do something in the same style for sure at some point, I do have one thing I have been thinking of.
I did a 60's makeup; you know, strong lines and painting all contours black, also around the socket. I browsed some inspiration from old pics and videos, there's a good youtube video here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v7JeCZ2drTE

For the hair; half of it is a wig I use for burlesque! It happens to be very close to my own hair colour. I roll my own hair on top into a bun with a rat in it and the rest into a French twist. Then I roll the wig into a bun and secure it by sticking pins into the rat. underneath! This can be done with your own hair too but you will need a lot of filling and/or back combing then. It was quite hard to roll the wig nicely so I think this do would be easier using a clip-on hair extension (not clipped in the head but just to roll around your own bun) or a fake ponytail. But I'll get back to that in something of a tutorial, perhaps :)

You both look great! I just love theme parties, too, it's so fun to dress up in clothes which are otherwise mostly hanging in your wardrobe, although you love them.

You look both stunning! I love theme parties as well. Especially the ones that result in everyone dressing up instead of masquerading. ;) Will have to remember that motto.

A thousand congratulations then!

You look absolutely lovely - the hair and make up are absolute perfection. Thanks for suggesting a tutorial. I would love to be able to do my make up as good as this. Thanks.

Wow you look awesome both of you! You look like a 60ies moviestar a young Mrs Robinson, who is my beauty icon :) And your Eddie is the most handsome man in town for sure. He looks a bit like Morrissey, and that is a huge compliment. I would like to dress up like that, the hair and the leopard coat, but I am too lazy, far too lazy. But its really inspiring when someone really does stuff like that.
( en annan stilig film är kanadensiska Kangastuksia, vet ej vad den heter på originalspråk, ej heller svenska titeln, men tjejen i huvudrollen är otroligt elegant, och filmen är underbar, bästa från förra året, typ )

I was actually also thinking that Eddi looks like George Clooney-gone-60's ;)
It made me giggle when you said it would have been "sort of too little" for you to wear what the party-instructions were. I think you managed to get around it very nicely. Cute couple you are =)
