Filling this one up.<br />
I <a href="https://www.instagram.com/p/B8W1MuiBufM/" target="_blank">took a walk in the woods today</a>, and walks this time of the year - although this winter is very much warmer than normally - always makes me chilly and calls for a warm bath.<br />
(Will also add that here I am carefully balancing and cropping out husband's mini-motorcycle workshop that has appeared on the bathroom floor, with it's tires resting here for their second week already...)<br />

We are in the year 2020 and that means a third decade of keeping this blog has started. It sounds like <i>a lot, </i>perhaps like more years than it actually is, but nevertheless that is the case. During these years the internet has changed, of course. Blogging has changed. And I have changed - would be rather terrifying if I hadn't. My first very first blogpost was about my 26th birthday and I will be 40 next year.<br />
<br />
The past years I have not had the same time to blog - as someone might have noticed (but not the 3746 spambots that happily keep on commenting about escorts and digital marketing) - but in moments blogging also felt too trivial, with all that has been going on in the world and society. I feel those who still hard core blog are so branded it's mainly just about sponsorship and product placement and I get it - blogging takes time and time is, after a certain amount of it at least, money. I am busy running businesses; both the studio and the showbiz and some kind of brand of my own.d At one point I got invited to things and events as a blogger or featured because of my style, what I was wearing and how I'd styled it and it always felt off, as I'd rather bring forward what I do as an artist or an entrepreneur. For years a very big portion of what I did was seen trough the eyes of, or reflected via the blog - how to post about this event or action, keep the camera ready, post it before it gets "cold". I do miss blogging from time to time but it is also a relief to not have this feeling of obligation hanging over everything all of the time.<br />
<br />
So what about the "new" 20's? Do I still keep the blog up in it's third decade? Do I turn off the comment-turn-spam section? Do I perhaps update this ancient 2007-template? We'll see.<br />
<br />
But before we dive into 2020, here is 2019 in six minutes, one second a day:<br />

I have worked so much and done so many things this summer I once again have some 5000 pics and 500 blogposts I will not manage to ever actually write. But meanwhile here are three, or; make it four awesome things right now- wine, a vintage maxi dress, our living room, and just having finished a job and not having to do anything for the moment.<br />
<br />
Enjoy the summer sun or hang in there with the heat wave, whichever way you feel about it.The Freelancer's FashionBloghttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11850119040594558585noreply@blogger.com75tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1453221088340380437.post-14529075460605737592019-07-04T22:08:00.003+03:002019-07-04T22:08:51.364+03:00WHEN I THINK 1970's I THINK THIRTY YEARS AGO<br />

Ok so it is July already. No biggie. Just prepare mentally for Christmas already, and 2021 and Dag graduating. (I was going the say "the retirement years" but I think we all know I most likely will never really retire from anything...)<br />

Well anyway it is summer and even if it is brief it means sunshine (hopefully), outdoor breakfasts and dresses for now. So today it was 1970's vibes all the way in a dress I bought at a vintage store when I was in Paris last month.<br />
<br />
And yes I know, in a few months it will be 1990 that was 30 years ago BOOM.<br />

This year's Suvi-Vintage poster that I did got summery vibes from the late 1950's.</div>

The vintage fair is in Tampere 29-30.6. I am performing elsewhere but you go!<br />
<br />
And now I am off to Paris! Peforming on Wednesday, there until Friday evening. Last time I was there was twenty-one years ago, so hit me with your best and most charming to-do's there!<br />

It's nice when it is summer and the nights are pale and light again!<br />
Here we are outside at 10pm.<br />
<br />

It is also nice when it is warm and one can wear light clothing in just one layer.<br />Dresses. No socks, no jacket.<br />

<br /></div>
Well hello there. I have spent my time working and sleeping, or, rather; lying in my bed making lists in the ceiling of all the things I should be doing but have not, and then watching You vs. Wild with Dag. It is his favourite.<br />
<br />
But today I finally made it out into the garden! Planting those herbs I have had waiting for some time already, as well as my lazy version of growing tomatoes, and cleaning up some dead plants after winter. I never manage - nor even try, really- to get the garden growing as much as I dream of, but doing these small is my relaxation mode. To sit outside alone and pot the plants and get some dirt on my hands. And cheeks.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj4fMhXfpBUYdX38zlQUFhBfJpFgj9nvAfC3bllle84zzMir7Y2u7SQ29rAwKdePxRyDKvGn3s6vIh1EKZz0M4lMxJiSJT6T75rzoxnnYue4CSClTZGk4-hTyS8AGg_yAUdNhZdNBbwBg4/s1600/garden2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1067" data-original-width="1600" height="423" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj4fMhXfpBUYdX38zlQUFhBfJpFgj9nvAfC3bllle84zzMir7Y2u7SQ29rAwKdePxRyDKvGn3s6vIh1EKZz0M4lMxJiSJT6T75rzoxnnYue4CSClTZGk4-hTyS8AGg_yAUdNhZdNBbwBg4/s1600/garden2.jpg" width="635" /></a></div>
We have this constant game of Eddi putting empty pots away in the old shed and me taking them out leaving them around everywhere, some filled with plants and some waiting for plants, and those then get put back in the shed again.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

My lazy-man's tomatoes are grown by just sticking old wrinkly ones in soil and letting everything take care of itself. Done this a couple of years and usually gives a few plants.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
And yes, this should have been done a month or two ago, but hey, it's more exciting to see if the tomatoes will make it before the first autumn frost or not.</div>

Not totally sure whats going on, if I am standing still in space or what, as time seems to go faster day by day and year by year. So just like <i>swish!</i> April went by and here is what it looked like, compressed to one tiny second per day:<br />

In between of being away working on Friday and Saturday, and before starting rather hectic May, this Sunday was a day off, letting the to-do list be for a little while.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>

From snow to flowers in a couple of weeks! Apart from coltsfoot the scillas are always the first to bloom.<br />
<br />

Dag's bike is out as well. Practice-time! We haven't really been biking a lot out here as everything is so far away and there is not really much to bike to over here. This summer however I intend to help him ride properly and fix up <a href="https://freelancersfashion.blogspot.com/2010/02/i-want-to-ride-my-bicycle-i-want-to.html" target="_blank">my old bike</a> as well (someone stole the saddle the year before we moved away from <a href="https://freelancersfashion.blogspot.com/search/label/tapiola" target="_blank">Tapiola</a> and I haven't ridden it since) so we can bike to <a href="https://freelancersfashion.blogspot.com/2010/07/to-lil-lake-and-back.html" target="_blank">the little lake</a>.<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjvNSfsmd4QRUT9JqyTvLiAGCPEmUQ8qJKS9rMpBDBMD6L0XXK289A5e9yJLG2vksuScWYe8A-m-XTThYBzVcUjkkKTSEswvCv_IRgd1zU6AK-YbPaRk5OImOKsMtJ-oaXPKc7ID_QjxAc/s1600/4_popcorn.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="799" data-original-width="1200" height="423" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjvNSfsmd4QRUT9JqyTvLiAGCPEmUQ8qJKS9rMpBDBMD6L0XXK289A5e9yJLG2vksuScWYe8A-m-XTThYBzVcUjkkKTSEswvCv_IRgd1zU6AK-YbPaRk5OImOKsMtJ-oaXPKc7ID_QjxAc/s1600/4_popcorn.png" width="635" /></a></div>
Then we had a popcorn lunch (because that is awesome!) and <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pwcr3cc0LZM" target="_blank">made Bear Grylls eat various yucky things and piss on a scarf to wear on his head.</a> (To keep cool from the heating sun. You learn new things every day! )<br />
<br />
It was really fun to watch / do You vs. Wild with Dag though! But the things I have learned, or come to realise from watching various shows with Grylls are:<br />
1) I would so die in no-time and<br />
2) not sure I ever want to get more than a hundred meters away from any main road, ever. <br />
(Ok, I do live more than 10km from a main road, but the Ingå wilderness I can survive.)<br />

<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhc08DDnGia9udSY40fJANrcOtMxhOEdw0PT2uE_Mk6ijao30TwRdj4iGvj7bEGseqGBGE3rj4VTuuAsvvU4VfC6oUV6qWfTVQjECH2whBfas3YQIKzeoIM9XiBPxEOo2w_mJK7deZc_AY/s1600/apple_blossom.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="815" data-original-width="1224" height="423" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhc08DDnGia9udSY40fJANrcOtMxhOEdw0PT2uE_Mk6ijao30TwRdj4iGvj7bEGseqGBGE3rj4VTuuAsvvU4VfC6oUV6qWfTVQjECH2whBfas3YQIKzeoIM9XiBPxEOo2w_mJK7deZc_AY/s1600/apple_blossom.png" width="635" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
In today's hectic life and it's social media climate, where you don't always have the time to sit down and read the paper properly but still have the time to scroll, and a lot of what the news feed feeds you is articles ("articles") that seem to just consist of screenshots of how people commented on something on twitter, I have come to appreciate a well written article even more than before, and the chance to get a moment to sit down and read something un-interrupted.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Also, I should learn to make shorter sentences.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Many people are having a holiday this weekend, and here is some recommended reading to accompany your Easter flowers, chocolate eggs and wine (well, that is what I am having at least).</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
These are two different stories but they share a common theme - the migration of peole, but foremost: putting a name on a number in the statistics, a backstory behind a short mention in an article, or a story to someone with no mention anywhere at all. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhY4OsgR1U6J_GOhVVDvPsd8O2ctzsJWMCQaitGpCX2SZ0gzftD7wSUJlurEB_PgAK7DvUAJ66Y7c14hQPkzt-1PZdH54cGFtxj-Q1olrsHXY73LXFS9hdMFcfNQF1McqtlXCnMG4P9K30/s1600/flower_leaf_botanical-1409641.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="800" data-original-width="1200" height="423" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhY4OsgR1U6J_GOhVVDvPsd8O2ctzsJWMCQaitGpCX2SZ0gzftD7wSUJlurEB_PgAK7DvUAJ66Y7c14hQPkzt-1PZdH54cGFtxj-Q1olrsHXY73LXFS9hdMFcfNQF1McqtlXCnMG4P9K30/s1600/flower_leaf_botanical-1409641.jpg" width="635" /></a></div>
So I give you one story for each day of Easter:<br />
<br />1. <a href="https://www.dagbladet.no/spesial/vatdraktmysteriet/eng/" target="_blank">The Wetsuit man</a> (dagbladet.no)<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
This came out a few years ago at the height of the so called refugee wave. I have returned to this text every now and then. It is a captivating and important read.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
2. <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2018/10/11/nyregion/sex-workers-massage-parlor.html" target="_blank">The Case of Jane Doe Ponytail</a> (The New Yorker)</div>
There is a person and a story behind every "-Doe".<br />
<br />
3. <a href="https://www.buzzfeednews.com/article/monicamark/slavery-nigeria-libya" target="_blank">The New Slave Trade</a> (Buzzfeed News)<br />
"Inside The Country Where You Can Buy A Black Man For $400".<br />

Admiring my super huge (1,81m) Mucha-poster that I ordered from the Mucha museum. I saw the original sized theatre posters there when performing in Prague earlier this year but couldn't get it then due to luggage restrictions. I ordered it on Wednesday in the afternoon and it arrived in less than 24 hours on Thursday morning! I will glue it to a board and then hang it in our living room.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

And then on with a lurex dress and out to listen to music! Went to the Russian centre of culture for a mesmerizing <a href="https://www.instagram.com/p/BwLwg15hgn8/" target="_blank">concert of Altai' music with Alexey Chichakov</a>. (He is playing in Heinävesi Sat 13. and Tampere Sun 14., go listen if you have the chance!)<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhe3H3iz9yBTY89S7Ls3odGpGKoG2atNUgMC0E8RfbKfmqqBtTo6s07qtu1pRjoITGq_wiBsiIXZdB8NFW4EZa8EUKDkaA88UeefVNg5CfBcwcNpBkwlKtcb_YvLb3ZYI2_rpnEyss09YA/s1600/jungle1.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="800" data-original-width="1200" height="426" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhe3H3iz9yBTY89S7Ls3odGpGKoG2atNUgMC0E8RfbKfmqqBtTo6s07qtu1pRjoITGq_wiBsiIXZdB8NFW4EZa8EUKDkaA88UeefVNg5CfBcwcNpBkwlKtcb_YvLb3ZYI2_rpnEyss09YA/s640/jungle1.png" width="640" /></a></div>
Now as the sun has returned to our hemisphere it's time to show the plants some love, re-pot and take care of them after the winter darkness. This year I -finally- got a couple of plant lamps to help my green inhabitants survive the dark months better. I somewhere read a comparison of the amount of light, and it is ridiculously low here in winter (from some 100 000 lux on a summer's day to just 500 during the darkest period), which is of course pretty obvious if you live here, but to see the actual numbers on paper is pretty describing as well.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjfyCatNzKHkVEoYe-uZ0hDwbdhYj2zqyv0_txgdXLCnoh1rlLxB4rDh35kuFvW7fnPmxbrzi8JcJIIos4KSFPDeeX7PZT_lzYPivblXa8UEIGa0J2tR6t4o8M9eYxTlmPeT7gTB7tgATQ/s1600/jungle2.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="800" data-original-width="1200" height="426" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjfyCatNzKHkVEoYe-uZ0hDwbdhYj2zqyv0_txgdXLCnoh1rlLxB4rDh35kuFvW7fnPmxbrzi8JcJIIos4KSFPDeeX7PZT_lzYPivblXa8UEIGa0J2tR6t4o8M9eYxTlmPeT7gTB7tgATQ/s640/jungle2.png" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

So now it's time for bigger pots for some, new soil and other care taking.<br />
<br />
I have always liked to decorate with plants, especially to make a room nicer when it is still waiting for a touch up or renovation, as is the case with our living room downstairs. We finally got the most important parts renovated, <a href="https://freelancersfashion.blogspot.com/2018/09/the-living-room.html" target="_blank">like upstairs</a> ( or: most of it, still some left...), and then the <a href="https://freelancersfashion.blogspot.com/2016/11/four-things-right-now-late-monday.html" target="_blank">two-year-box-labyrinth-hell</a> that was our former city flat cleaned up just in time for Christmas meaning we actually have a downstairs again, so any paint jobs will now have to wait. In the meantime I keep on growing our little jungle!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjfBlZBg4pAdWOKwXHPwYm1_g2Bozkb-OAY-QXwFSZXlxVc6aCn1Wmy1Pky-IZaZBkBLAArRr6Fkzp9ZJDNar1P9jY0XqoDMWpSCP4GSugT-gpM6fNE7Blw6T5WtuScr_BWmjo07p-ZCEY/s1600/jungle4.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="800" data-original-width="1200" height="426" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjfBlZBg4pAdWOKwXHPwYm1_g2Bozkb-OAY-QXwFSZXlxVc6aCn1Wmy1Pky-IZaZBkBLAArRr6Fkzp9ZJDNar1P9jY0XqoDMWpSCP4GSugT-gpM6fNE7Blw6T5WtuScr_BWmjo07p-ZCEY/s640/jungle4.png" width="640" /></a></div>
We have a row of big plants working as a screen separating one part of the room from the other.<br />
<div>
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjhb-YSdQJeKjM7NUqOVPYxJK0Tm9vpkTZNgW04A_XmqHxIZS-nlRDvvoVSNRaSalS0sf6kAGb-Hkcwwlu0V9qtMlmOSrAqZd2GOFJuqlTgN4mI30uqBpI32NZ4a2HW0oCbYr7QTSNhNd4/s1600/jungle5.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="800" data-original-width="1200" height="426" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjhb-YSdQJeKjM7NUqOVPYxJK0Tm9vpkTZNgW04A_XmqHxIZS-nlRDvvoVSNRaSalS0sf6kAGb-Hkcwwlu0V9qtMlmOSrAqZd2GOFJuqlTgN4mI30uqBpI32NZ4a2HW0oCbYr7QTSNhNd4/s640/jungle5.png" width="640" /></a></div>
The cats take their roles as this jungle's mini panthers, chasing shadow pray.<br />
<br />
More plants to come still!<br />

Earrings from <a href="https://www.minegungorart.com/" target="_blank">Mine Güngör</a>! I have been eyeing her designs for some time but not being able to choose a pair, until I saw these fans in a collection sneak peek on instagram.<br />
<br />
This tassel-version of the Flo-earrings did not end up in the actual collection but I got to buy this pair anyway and they are fabulous! And to imagine I used to go more than a decade without big and bold earrings, hah!<br />
<br />
Earrings would be translated "ear-hangs" in Swedish (and a little more fancy as "ear jewellery" in Finnish, in case you felt you had to know) and when Dag was younger he got it confused; once he grabbed a pair of my earrings, hanged them by the hook from the top of his ears and said "Look mom, I also have <i>hang-ears!!</i>" ("Hängöron"...)<br />
<br />
Speaking of "hanging ears", I do have an issue with big earrings still and that is if they are heavy- <a href="https://freelancersfashion.blogspot.com/2008/06/hairdos-1.html" target="_blank">I had extension plugs in the 00's</a> (sigh) that I never stretched that big (phew), and that grew pretty well together after I took them out. They still make themselves reminded though when I wear anything more dangly, as the hole tends to stretch out and droop more than just a little pierced needle hole would.<br />
<br />
These fan-earrings however are made of birch veneer so they are very lightweight and can be worn all day without headache or the feeling of having your lobes rip apart at any time! Here they are in action, plus a few of my other favourite earrings to wear for the moment:<br />

I have some pairs that are mainly made of string (<a href="https://www.etsy.com/shop/CristinaHandmade?section_id=21393561" target="_blank">via Christina Handmade / Etsy,</a> like the one in the down right corner) that also hang light as feathers in the ears. But '<i>will man vara fin får man lida pin' </i>as the saying goes, as in if you want to be nice and fancy it will hurt and you will have to suffer - some of my favourite dangling ones are a bit on the heavier side; ethnic artesan jewelry that I bought earlier this year from <a href="https://www.etsy.com/shop/Omanie" target="_blank">Omanie</a> (the two others in the pic). Worth drooping out a little for!<br />

The skirt is handmade by me late last year. Still have enough of the same fabric to make pants but those are very much still in their folded-fabric state, safely tucked away in a pile of other awesome fabrics. (Kind of like the <a href="https://freelancersfashion.blogspot.com/2011/02/cats-and-kittens.html" target="_blank">KITTY FABRIC FROM 2011</a>. Ta-F:ing-da! But as I remembered that it still exists it might very well be that it turns into a skirt or so this year.)<br />

This year I started with the collect-one-second-a-day-clips, which a lot of my friends did last year. (I coudn't start then as I missed the first month and my inner system would not allow me to <i>not</i> start on January 1.)<br />
A fun small way to gather memory snippets.<br />

You may know that my love for putting wheels on, or rather: under things, is just about as big as my love for pockets.<br />
<br />
<a href="https://freelancersfashion.blogspot.com/2018/04/dags-room.html" target="_blank">When we made Dag's room</a> we put wheels under most of the storage. Easy to move around when playing, building fortresses and creating new secret worlds.<br />

I planned and Eddi made a lego tray to build on, and then push under the bed for when not needed. And also to mimize the amount of hazardous little hard pieces to step onto when spread out on the floor (they still appear there too though...)<br />

And I got a couple of transport trolleys from the hardware store to store the bigger toy boxes on.<br />(Yes, half of our house consists of Lego.)<br /><br />I wonder if there is something more that I'd manage to wheel still...<br />

I'm continuing my -apparent- theme colours for this fall; here in a jumpsuit I sew myself in a dark, plum-brownish shade.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg0TAsunP-jax2Zb2GuUBJTjkO0r8ZP1PqQbJU1piTD_bzcS1nfBxYHdelcsDYNoxdorhUU9hn_Upa7HcEuiGLU00nkbcJlFvSVKSQwQTy9G60BdqqnaIu9sAyMKv2MOvVdbbvPLvHotVY/s1600/jumpsuit1.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1200" data-original-width="800" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg0TAsunP-jax2Zb2GuUBJTjkO0r8ZP1PqQbJU1piTD_bzcS1nfBxYHdelcsDYNoxdorhUU9hn_Upa7HcEuiGLU00nkbcJlFvSVKSQwQTy9G60BdqqnaIu9sAyMKv2MOvVdbbvPLvHotVY/s1600/jumpsuit1.png" width="635" /></a></div>
I've noticed that sewing is perhaps the closest to a hobby I have, as I otherwise don't really have time for one (unless buying lipsticks counts as a hobby). While I have to do a lot of sewing for work (costumes) too, sewing for my everyday-self is something of a threat as I am not able to do it whenever I'd like, and it is not something I <i>have to d</i>o but want to.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj_G2lVPAGNExeAcxLZ_jy1YauFrS_uXfszDq3CTn21Fnb3UTDGK0sqUs8UjZ-SWZumsxH73p4RSU2xpxlVlna-UXHgFT7CjdAjxpouah3AVHNoEKPzmTaGJk_DdPVZYfxpSp_X_gPRGdA/s1600/jumpsuit2.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="800" data-original-width="1200" height="423" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj_G2lVPAGNExeAcxLZ_jy1YauFrS_uXfszDq3CTn21Fnb3UTDGK0sqUs8UjZ-SWZumsxH73p4RSU2xpxlVlna-UXHgFT7CjdAjxpouah3AVHNoEKPzmTaGJk_DdPVZYfxpSp_X_gPRGdA/s1600/jumpsuit2.png" width="635" /></a></div>
I made this based on<a href="https://www.instagram.com/p/BnIuQ9AHd7O/" target="_blank"> a thinner jumpsuit I have</a>, bought last summer. That one fits and hangs great but the fabric was cheap and got floppy very fast. So I decided to make a new, better quality version. As you may remember I am not used to working with patterns, but I often copy things I see. Cutting is always the hardest part, sewing is easier. I will still need to make a small lift in the waist as it gets a bit bulky there, and I want to add a couple of decorative buttons in the front - but otherwise this was a rather quick and painless project!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi4jj_mTnIgoUeaXTaGQ9B0TD5YpdWzblIvgfcx5aCpj6u56stt5REo4KwOgwT4trs0QbnCPjYbxTdUwSkg-ISyFaPazp335Rry6c1z0kblwTFj_CSsd2ZCkKHR2vZ7idBgJAf5tBeZedI/s1600/jumpsuit3.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="800" data-original-width="1200" height="423" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi4jj_mTnIgoUeaXTaGQ9B0TD5YpdWzblIvgfcx5aCpj6u56stt5REo4KwOgwT4trs0QbnCPjYbxTdUwSkg-ISyFaPazp335Rry6c1z0kblwTFj_CSsd2ZCkKHR2vZ7idBgJAf5tBeZedI/s1600/jumpsuit3.png" width="635" /></a></div>
The difference to the original jumpsuit turned out to perhpaps be the over-all feel - while this fabric is better and sturdier, it does not drape, or rather hang, as well as I thought it would. (Making a fitted dress or a short-legged romper version out of this material might have been the optional use.) It did turn out quite nice in any case although it is not a straight copy of the old one, but it is just as comfy! And that's the big deal here.<br />
