I first read about Beth Ditto and The Gossip in Diva magazine a couple of years ago but then I totally forgot about the band. Recently I happily rediscovered them in my iTunes. Beth Ditto is fierce, oh yeah.
(And I don't think she's cool just because- to quote some others- she's gay or "hot in a miniskrit even though she's big" or whatever; in my opinion that has nothing to do with it. Why does it even have to be pointed out. She'd be cool with or without those attributes.)

Ans; I agree with you. It's fucked up the words "even tough". Like it matters. I love her on stage, and her voice. And her voice can make me cry, and also beat the shit out of idiots.

Beth Ditto is really something - her voice and her attitude are great. I discovered her from this documentary film about a girls-only band camp that promoted the idea that girls can be loud and can actually be what ever the fuck they want. She was one of the "mentors" there.
I haven't heard of Beth Ditto before. Her voice is amazing!

I only recently came to know who Beth Ditto is due to several magazines I like. I'm infatuated with her too! Her voice, her style - there's just something so confident about her, and that makes her attractive.
i love her voice, have their cd... i think it's great, that in a world so obsessed with women being skinny, there's a woman who dares to be herself. excessive dieting and exercise means some get anorexia. they don't speak enough about the health concerns of anorexia. they never meantion, that it's worse for your health to be anorexic, than to be slightly overweight.

I guess it varies from cpountry to country but I think that here in Scandinavia there's a lot of talk and awareness about anorexia.
