Show those locks who's in charge and hide them completely, then add some faux hair to show instead!
If you don't have a little sad rat (as my hairdresser and I tend to call my clip-on bangs) like I you can roll a piece of longer clip-on hair into bangs, a roll or a nice smooth wave hanging out from whatever it is you are covering the rest of those little fuckers (; that would be, your own locks) with.
I bought my bangs blonde and had then bleached into the right platinum shade when I was still platinum myself. They are made of real hair. Later I coloured them light brown to suit my own hair, and now I every now and then put one of my tinted hair masks (which I do no longer need to use myself as I have cut away all the bleached parts which tended to loose colour) to help the shade stay. Otherwise I only wash them with conditioner every now and then, and then use a curler and heat protector to style it. I avoid silicones and such in my own hair products, but for faux locks and such those are recommended.
What comes to the scarf/turban, you need to use some pins to help it stay in place during the day. I put a couple of pins before I tie the ends together, so that they won't show, and put a couple in the sides for extra support.
PS. More hair stuff coming up later this week. Just saying.

Oooh, you look stunning, like a doll! and great post by the way.. :)
i look forward to seeing more hair tutorials really! i have a bob haircut so for me it's basically just curls...
But i'd like to know which styling product you use before you put the ordinary curlers/hair rollers on? i haven't found one that would make the curls last longer than just the couple of hours...
I haven't done that much with my hair lately, it is in it's shortets mode now, so mostly just curls, combs and scarves in different ways. I've been lazy and used a lot of heat for styling; it looks good some 2-4 days like that - but a lot depends on the weather. (The curls do not stay proper for that long, but the after-texture and style is still nice and easily styleable).
I use Cutrin's hair setting spray with heat protection for that, the red bottle, and Elnet spray. If I do a wet set I use Lottabody (ordered from the US), it gives long hold. I always spray a little before brushing out, then spray again, but try not to overdo it, my hair does not look good with too much spray. I like Elnett because it's rather light in the hair, btu still has hold.
However, lately I've been changing all my products to organic and natural. I've ordered some natural gels and sprays to try out, but I have no idea how those will work on my hair...
If the weather is moist outside no curls will ever stay though...
Oh that is so clever! I never thought of getting faux bangs for myself, but what a smart thing to do on bad hair days, or just when you want something different.

Yes, I will certainly look into trying this look. Please keep the hair ideas coming - especially the ones with scarves. With an impossible number of scarves I need more ideas to display them!
I want to try this out! .. only if I had thicker hair.. :D But yours look great, it's fab! :)

You look stunning even on a bad hairday
Sara : Umm, well, you CAN try this out as the bangs are clip-on, as in NOT my real hair. But I used to have my hair like this when I had bangs too - if you want to do it with your own hair but feel it is too thin then you can either
1. back comb it a little and use a filling, like tulle or a rat
2. start your bangs way back on your head; it woun't look funny as you will cover the rest of your hair with the scarf. That way you will get a lot of hair for your bangs and make them thicker
When you curl your bangs curl it in sections, first the layer closest to your forehead, then the layer on top, and comb them together. It will look thicker than it is.
Jenny : well, thank you, and that is the whole point of this post; don't mind the bad hair days :)
Yes please to more hair posts! I've been suffering from bad hair this week, need some hints and tips to freshen the look up a bit pretty please :)
you're looking beautful in this picture, and I honestly could not tell that was a fake fringe you had in, it matches perfectly! Where did you buy yours from? I put my ahir up in a scarf on bad hair days too, and then end up with a bit of a limp quiff to try and give it more of a 'look' although it falls flat pretty quickly! Tips very much appreciated :)
I've just given you the 'One Lovely Blog Award' over on mine:

It's a way of me saying thank you for keeping me inspired and reading for the last year. I may have been a bit quite on the comments front due to poorly hands, but I've hardly missed a post and you've put a smile on my face on a regular basis. Thank you!
