OH SHOES!

When it comes to material things in my posession, my shoes are what I love the most. Of all pretty things one can wear shoes are for me what crowns the outfit. I've always been fascinated with the sculptural shape of the high heeled shoe; the shapes of the heel, the line of the shoe, the rounded toe.

My appartement is full of shoes in different places; I have more shoes than I have time to wear, but why hide all of them in a dark closet for no-one to admire? I wouldn't decorate my kitchen with a pair of shoes but they can look pretty nice elsewhere at home, while waiting to one day be worn...

I'm alowing my shoe collection to grow by the principal "if it's in a colour I do not yet have" and I recently cheered myself up a bit by finnally getting myself a pair of blue shoes!

Just like you can vary your clothing with different accessories you can actually also vary or re-new your shoes, by adding a ribbon, brooch or bow to them to make them go better along with some outfit for example. I got a tip from a reader of mine about a site called Bling My Boots, from where you can order different chains, ribbons and other apparel to customize your boots with, and give the same shoe many different looks. Rahter brilliant yes, but even more brilliant -and affordable- it is to do all of this yourself. Like when I bowed my bootlets for less than two euros, like Nanó did with her boots, or like Oriane does all the time, boots and heels alike! Basically there's no limit for what you couldn't do - paint, glue, attach- but do it with precision. Personally I don't like the too "home made" look, that just reminds me of hippies and emo teens with felt-marker decorated shoes (been there, done that and thank god that was ages ago).

I have a weakness for shoes, too! I have a shoe rack near the entrance of my flat (because I don't wear shoes inside) and whenever people come over they say, "Are those ALL YOURS?!" I'm glad they don't know I have another stash in another country... :P

They're not all emo teens!

I loved getting a little peek-a-boo into your shoe collection. The new blue heals are precious.

That blue color is really beautiful. And thanks for the other diy-tips, I had to check those blogs out right away. And maybe, maybe I'll find a way to re-new some of my old shoes instead of selling them away (I hate to sell/give away my clothes or shoes)

I like changing/customizing my shoes with dye, but am slightly fearfull to attack them with major embellishment.
Plus, I need an excuse to buy jazzy new pairs.

Ooooh shoes! Yay for shoes. And your logic for getting shoes if you don't have them in a certain colour is genius. :D

Gosh! I know the feeling, I have too many shoes and they are hidden in huge plastic boxes, they are transparent though so I know what I have where.
Since I moved to England and found that I can get pretty shoes dirt cheap it's only made it worse.

I wanted to put up shelves close to the ceiling to show off my collection but that was a no go for my man.

I'm just like you, I constantly revamp with ribbon and all sorts of things. I still haven't tried to dye shoes.
I take my hat of to you for being so creative, if everyone were like you mother earth would be much happier.

Chelsea : Yes Iäm pretty careful too, but somethings are easy to just alter for one day, like a ribbon or two.

A Cat of Impossible colour : These blue ones were from modcloth.com

Mysterycreature : in real life they are more purple than blue, and I totally love them too. By the Finnish brand O.I.S

NormaJeane : I really like them too but unfortunately they're abit uncomfy so I don't wear them that much...

Little Rascal : thanks dear :) THere's something with men and shoes I guess - my ex didn't also liek the idea of giving my colection some visibility so they were all hidden in a closet back then.

Lacevixen : I have a personal account, but I also have my 'burlesque profile'; CherryDee!
(which btw isn't really my burlesque name but facebook wouldn't accept the 'real' one...)
Feel free to add!

I'm just like you! I can't stop buying them, at least a pair a month. But I do have stopped counting them, I had 60 pairs when I met my boyfriend 2 years ago and I still have 60 pairs. This is something he teases me a lot for.
I love those blue shoes you're showing, especially the heel.

Inspired by all your work with shoes, I tried it for myself when I couldn't find the right shoes for a costume.
I posted some pics on my blogger if you care to see the results.

Thanks for being an inspiration.
