Or, rather : three things somewhat recently and one thing right now. But anyway.
Filled up some candy jars last time I was out at the farm house. You see the thing is, all that candy that was in the bag… it's not for eating. I only like the kind of sweets that will make you fat. As said before, I like candy for it's looks. I tend to keep a jar full of peppermints. That I never touch and NO ONE ELSE GODDAMIT but others still tend to secretly sneak a few of every now and then and quite often in fact. But now I have a stash to fill up after the boys -and husband- and their sticky fingers (literally) have been around.
On the boat on the way home I bought fruit drops! So old school you can't go any more old school. My grandmother always had these at home (a home which is now mine, funny) when I was a kid! More candy jars that is! Worse teeth for the boys!
And next time I travel I need to bring her a jar, didn't think of it until just now...
More sweetes; Eddi and I got a basket with an old porcelain coffee set and a big box of 50's cutlery as a wedding gift from his parents. Their house is just up on the hill opposite of the farm house, and full of past generation's furniture and items. His mom calls it old crap to get rid of, and well, I say Yes Please.
And now I just painted my nails sky blue - haven't had'em blue since I was 15 I think - and enjoyed a watermelon smoothie on the balcony, overflowed with the warm evening sun, at home in town.
And as little extra thing here I can tell you that Thrifted and Modern is offering you 15% off until August15, but you'd already know that if you'd hang out with me on Facebook, that's where it's all heard first.

how does it feel, to say "my husband" ? and what's the word for husband in finnish ?
I wish I had a husband, too.....and lots of candy that looks as pretty as yours....
Haha, I think it's not such a big deal to write or say it out in English but it does feel like more of a thing to do it in Finnish or Swedish :) In both languages the word is the same as the word for man (as in male); Mies, or Man in Swedish. (Btw I think the word husband derives from the old Nordic word for husbone, which kind of means man of the house, house owner, or master of the household...)
master of the household, I like that!! happy weekend then, and enjoy the sun ! we're having a rainorama here in berlin. it's been constantly raining for 48 hours now....can you believe that ?
I prefer the look to candy to eating it, too (well, most of the time - sometimes I have a craving). Pretty candy! :-)
Really want some sweets now!
Wazzap med blått nagellack?!!! Mina tår är (mörk)blåa denna sommar!
hey, you don't happen to have a recipe for that watermelon smoothie do you??? ( please say yes please say yes)
Burprags & Bustiers : I just mix a lot of fruit and juice; this time I had bits of watermelon in the freezer for a while, mixed them with apple juice, frozen strawberries, half a banana and some youghurt! Frozen bits of pineapple with watermelon and applejuice works very well too :)
My cousin fills up jars with candy just for looks too and has done this for over 35 years! She will always match the candy to the color of her decor, I remember visiting her in L.A. California in 1976 and her house was all done in red, white, and blue and so was her candy! I have visited her other times and always the candy jars have been there. This latest visit was in 2006 and she lives further down in California even closer to Mexico and her house is done in a Mexican Day of the Dead theme with lots of bright colors AND with lots of bright candy in jars to match! I loved ready your post because it reminded me so much of my wonderful and creative cousin! Thank you!
