POSING FOR AND BLENDING INTO ART

Maria Stereo: Maisema 3
Clothes and accessories:
IvanaHelsinki – Nudge / YCM – Hoochie Mama Jane – OVVN / Uhana Design

Earlier this fall I modelled for an art project between Tabulaland Art Store, stylist Nina Erkkilä and photographer Marko Saari, for which Erkkilä styled artworks by different artists on display and sale at Tabulaland with Finnish design and vintage.

MUAH for these photos are by me.

It just so happened that I posed with the smallest and the largest pieces of the project.
You can see all the other great photos from the project at Sylvi.fi. I think the interpretation is really interesting.

The Finnish Fashion Loves Tabulaland Art- exhibition is on display at GLO Hotel Art Kitchen until mid-January next year.

BACK IN BUSINESS; SHOW BUSINESS

My burlesque mommy-leave is over; today was my first time in our dance studio since Dag was born!

Tinker Bell and I have a side project apart from the I.B.T.C.: The Ravishing Shangri-La Rubies.
Very much dance, a little slapstick, lots of kitsch and sixties glamour.

Making-of picture by Marko Saari.
Today we started working for real on our upcoming Christmas-show project together with actress and jazz singer Lady Laverna - you actually saw a sneak peek of this last winter, when we shot some "pre-promo" pics - time goes SO fast, does''t it? I remember covering my belly in the shots although it really wasn't even that big then...

(But when we shot a promo video later in spring I really did have the need to cover my bump.)

I'm quite excited about this as it will be really really good! (Just need to loose some 10 pregnancy kilos first in order fit my costumes. Heh.)

You can read more about it - and book us- at LadyLaverna.com!

FRIDAYS ARE FOR SHOOTING

Friday a week ago I was filming a short movie and this Friday we were photoshooting a teaser for a really nice project we are working on for next winter.

Lady Laverna, the jazz singer. I made her a nice60's up do by rolling a bob-shaped wig into a bun.

Tinker Bell and Laverna getting ready.

Marko shooting. He has shot a lot of things for us, like the car and the mummy shots for example.

The theme was slightly 60's showgirl. As yu can see.
My hair has grown amazingly during my pregnancy, hehe, hasn't it?

Hair and make up by me.

CARS AND CHICKS AND CRUISING

"Oh, tires!"

Tomorrow, on Friday night, it's time for the first Helsinki Cruising Club at Nosturi.

It will really be a great happening but I mostly just feel like sleeping backstage until my turn is up; I've been going to work at 6:AM, then renovating after that, coming home late after which I've worked on a commission until midnight. Every day, the whole week. Needless to say, I am so very tired. I'm going to have to pin curl my hair and glue some sequins that've fallen off back on my outfit in between the ships at work tomorrow. Oh oh oh.

But then again I really want to try and stay awake before my show too as I want to catch the bands; Rob Coffinshaker (from the coffinshakers), The Barnshakers and Kim Lenz & Nick Curran.
Damn work, it calls at Saturday morning too.

But back to the cars, here are some of our car inspired pictures from the Cruising shoot to get you in the mood. (Set up-and behind the scenes pictures were to be seen here as you may remember).
The pictures are taken by Marko Saari.

We should make some "The Itty-Bitty Tease Cabaret-cards: Collect Them All!" don't you think?

A GREAT COMBINATION

-Cars and girls!

Last weekend, just before the rain came and the week-long heat ended, we drove out to a car club to shoot some poster pics for Helsinki Cruising Club.

HCC happens the first Friday of every month from June to September. Radio Helsinki plays great rockabilly and rautalanka (♥) all evening long while the cars cruise. I always tune in. The club itself afterwards is at Nosturi, with acts like Kim Lenz, Rob Coffinshaker, The Barnshakers (at the first club) and us - at every club! But more on that some other time.

Here are some behind the scenes pics, taken by Itty-Bitty Lola M.:

Vera De Vil.

Jackie O'Lantern has a mini Diana!

Oh, tires!

Pickaboo from behind my Taunus (which, although a great car, was not part of the shooting :)

Marko, the photographer. He's really good. He took these (<- click) for example.

Final results to be seen later.
