SUMMER GIRLS IN VINTAGE SKIRTS

Oh summer vacation! Makes me wish I'd never have to work again!
(Even though I at this very moment have some work files open too. That's the thing with freelancing, you always work a little...)

But anyway; it's almost all-vacation for me. I started my day with strawberry-, yoghurt- and honey filled pancakes after which I biked around in the sunshine, listening to two Johnnies on my ipod (Kidd and Preston). Later I met up with Ina for lunch and some swimsuit fabric shopping , I'm going to sew us a couple of very cup cake-y bikinis next week!

Two very foxy ladies enjoying the view. The outfits are as beautiful as the divas wearing them.

Have a great and summery day!

Fantastic skirts! And a lovely bicycle.

I find there's almost nothing more enjoyable than casually riding around the city on a bright, sunny day.

And of course looking great while you're doing it is a plus :)

Ohh, you look like you've just came down from the summer's blue sky! I like the color contrast between the two of you. And some questions: what is like to work with that kind of fabric ? You use special sewing thread ?

Are those shoes (yours) from Modcloth? They're on my wish list ;-)

Wendy B : thanks! Don't wear it that much though.

Cherly : Oh thank you.

Melancholic Optimist : Oh yes looking good is a very essential part of it all! Heh, but anyway yup, the bike is great, it's my grandmothers from the forties. Great to ride!

Irina : I think it's easier than you'd expect. An overlock machine would be the best I guess but I just have a regular one. I use basic polyester thread. Sometimes it's hard to get the fabric/seams smooth. I've decided to make some ruffled seams and sew part of the bikinis with elastic thread to get a nicer result, and to get away a little easier :)

Darla : yup I can't wait either. I won't have time until next week though so I'm a little anxious to get started.

Sal : thanks :)

AlicePleasance : Yes, they are the ModCloth ones!

Wow, even better! I'd love to have a bicycle that had been passed down through generations. It gets a nice coloring of rust and stories :)

Happy sewing and basking in the summer sun!

Your hair is always killer. It never fails.

Also, your friends top with the bows is killer. Love it!

You guys look awesome! Did you plan on dressing similarly, or did it just happen?

Love this photo and these outfits! The long-ish, classic vintage skirts look great with modern sleeveless tops. I wouldn't have thought to pair them that way! I will definitely keep this look in mind, because I am often at a loss for how to wear my longer skirts without looking too prim.

I'm always blogging while I'm working. It seems to be neverending. Love the vintage skirts! However, I have yet to ride a bike while wearing one.

Lizbeth : Yes the bow top! I gave it to her B-day last year (and also got one for me since it's so cute :)

Rosie Unknown : Oh it just happens! Same style, same taste...

Alyyson Zinnia : well yes it's kind of my everyday look, simple top and old skirt. Comfy but classy, so go for it :)

Darrah : Biking in a skirt is not always the easiest, but if there's enought fabric you'll probably manage not to flash anything.

Darla : Sounds nice, good luck with the moving!

Oh I love your skirts! I'm on the hunt for cute cotton skirts as well, but I really prefer wrap or A line skirts like yours! My shortness and hips just don't look good in full skirts.

Did you see the one I featurd this week - the one with the zoo print? Adorable!
