KNITS ON KNITS AND SO ON

I am now at the point of winter where anything clothes-related gets pretty boring, because it's all the same and just goes on and on, stockings here and extra tops there and blah blah. And on with the jacket and the boots and the mittens and scarves and so on. Although new for this year: dress the baby! And time it so he does not get too hot and start crying when it's your turn for a go, or, the if done the other way around; so that you don't get all sweaty in your gear when dressing that shouting little caterpillar. (Apparently my boy would prefer to be au naturel most of the time; it's such a big tragedy every time any clothing needs to be put on.)

Well anyway here's a winterish outfit; my grandmother's old cardigan, kintter top from Indiska and skirt made by myself. It would be pretty alright if one could actually go out just like this like you see in some old pictures, ice skating in just a knitted sweater, but, well, we all know that's not the case. Come again in later March or so!

I know what you mean! I am so tired of all of my winter clothing.

yes to knits on knits!! My obsessively worn outfit of late is also knit on knit, so cozy and comfy. I really dislike winter and knits (plus fireplaces, soup and cuddling) are one of the few things that make this season bearable for me, even though I'm not even somewhere that that cold

Well, I'm pretty big on knits. Obsessively so, actually. Bring them on, any time, any season :)
But yes, I did wonder about the beautiful but somewhat scanty for the season skating outfits in certain vintage footage. Surely that's wasn't for real, one would think? (Yet I see many images from the 20's with ladies clad in winter coats with not much in the way of legwear and wearing normal shoes).
Going back to knits the most "interesting" pairing is that of berets/knitted hats with swimwear. Sure, it looks cool. But could/did anyone do it for real - wear a knitted hat at the beach, even with a knitted swimsuit? It's adorable, but totally absurd.

My little one is quite the same when it´s time to put some more clothes on. If you haven´t already tried: sing songs like "jos sun lysti on niin kädet yhteen lyö" and then you clap hands and put cloves on etc. Worked for us anyway. Other song very in right now is "pää, olkapäät, peppu, polvet, varpaat" Now it´s almost possible to get out without a major meltdown, not for mom or a son.

Just as I thought things were getting warmer (and I could ditch my hiking boots!) it's started snowing again, so it looks like I'll be digging-out yet more knits! *sigh*

Anonymous : the lipstick is Limecrime's velveteens lipstick/lip paint. It's really good although if you have sensitive skin it can feel a little "strong". But the finish is exquisite!

Murmeli :I've tried with some songs but so far not working :D I am counting on ti though for when he is a bit older so I will keep on trying.
