OH THESE SUMMER SUNDAYS

'
Skirt - the same selfmade one as always...
Mini-cardigan, Shoes & Bag - H&M
Top - Carlings

When I arrived home from the trip I noticed that my mom, who came over a couple of times to feed my cats while I was gone, had cleaned my appartmement for me! She had done the dishes and put all of my messy papers an magazines in one pile "beacuse it's nicer to come home to a clean home" she said. That's just so sweet!

I went to sit in the park behind my house and listened to my iPod for a while, slowly recovering from the weekend. Then I had dinner with my parents at one of the restaurants close to me; halloumi cheese salad with roasted pumpkin-and sunflower seeds and cherry tomatoes, mmm.

Why oh why is it only Sunday once a week?

Soft Sunday song for today is from one of my all time favourite movies, Donnie Darko.

(The original song is by Tears for Fears and in all it's eightyness it's kind of nice too.)

Sundays are so good, aren't they?! I haven't seen DD (one day!) but I know the song you mean, and I like both versions! I like your illustration, nice outfit.

I liked the director's cut of Donnie Darko much more than the theatrical release. Although it still took me a couple of viewings to grasp and understand the entirety of the film, I think that the director's cut delves more into the original script, and brings the viewer full circle without leaving so many questions unanswered. If you haven't watched the dc, I highly recommend it!

I love your drawings! Btw, I just went through your entire archive since I just discovered your blog a couple days ago.

Sounds like you had a really good time. Well, rain did not come to my rescue this weekend, and with a virus hitting my laptop, I could not go online either. So, shopping it was.

My mom too loves to come back to a neat house, and so do I. in fact, tidying up is one of my leaving home rituals.

That sounds blissful! I love Sundays. My own Winter Sunday was quite delicious this week.

Lovely illustrations, as always. I'd love to incorporate art into my blog but clothes are pretty much the one thing I don't draw (I do life drawing with nude models)...so I guess it's not really suitable. Your concept is so unique!

I can't stand Sundays! I hate the Sunday-feeling, can't really explain how it feels like, but it's definitely there every Sunday. It doesn't help that the following day is Monday and I usually can't get much sleep during that night and then the new week begins in a wrong way. So in my opinion, Sundays spoil everything, they're the worst :)

By the way, I got my hands on STM summer issue today. You were just absolutely gorgeous, need I say more ;) Also, it was very interesting to read the article.

Esme and the Lane Way: Thanks. You should see the film!

Elsie Wright : No, haven't seen it but I'll try to see if I can get a hold of itm thanks for the tip :)

Turquoisepassion : Thank you. NIce to know someone looks at the old stuff too since I spent a lot more time working on those drawings back then :)

Pratishtha Durga : Was it good thenm the shopping? :)
I mostly leave in such a hurry that my flat is messy that I have to start by cleaning it first thig when I come home, so it's sort of mandatory ritual for me too...but this time I could spare myself the effort, thanks to mom!

Lady Smaggle : It's so strange to think it is winter there down under...

WJ: Thanks. At first I only wanted to post drawings here but my concept changed a bit due to a lack of time...

The Clothes Horse : thanks sweetie

Anna : I've had really good Sundays lately, maybe because I've always forced myself to do something on them (unfortunately they tend to be quite short days though since I get up very late...) - or then it's the summer that does it.

Still, I really know what you mean with that unspecified-sunday feeling! It's kind of, I don't know, ahdistavaa perhaps?

And you read the STM, that's great:D
