SOME THINGS HURT IN A GOOD WAY

Dress - Carlings
Belt & Shoes - Vintage

One of my favourite pairs of shoes are my grandmother's from the early 1940's. They are in such good condition but sadly a teeny-weeny bit too small. (Should I start doing some body-modifications? Maybe cut all my toes off a few millimeters?)

...I still couldn't resist wearing them today to town, and of course my toes were a bit aching at the end of the day.

Later I went for a pass of savate training for the first time in weeks. Normally I go to these technique/ full-but-controlled contact training but today I did a cardio pass which means punching the sack and doing muscle stuff for 75 minutes non stop. Boy was that heavy considering my poor liver has been working out more than me this summer and I've been smoking like hell recently! People work out so hard at those cardio passes the whole room smells like the kitchen of a chinese resaurant afterwards - like stir fry.

Umm, I don't know if that inspired me or not but later in the evening I went out with a friend for chinese food around the corner and my legs were so shakey and tired I took the elevator instead of the stairs back home :)

But I actually like it, it sort of hurts in a good way.

Lovely hallway, lovely Cinderella girl (she also didn't cut off her toes – brave one).

i think people used to have smaller feet before. both my mum and grandmother only had size 37-38. but for some weird reason mine are 40 and wide ones! but, working in an old people's home this summer has made me grateful for them. they still "work", they don't hurt. and seriously, they might not be pretty, but it could be worse. lol!

I totally adore the dress and the belt is a really nice touch!

Dotti : :) But the shoes fit ciderella...I'll have to be one of her stepsisters them, they cut of they'äre toes in some versions of the story didn't they?

Little Rascal : Thanks. I think this hairdo is the easiest one to do, especially if I haven't brushed "yesterday's curls" away.

WendyB : thank you wendy

Annabananna & Turquoisepassion & Nadine : thanks :)

Purple_Violet : and when the shoe-sales are on there are usually only sizes of 40 and up left so there's another good point for you:D
I have about 37-8 and those are almost always sold out before the sales :(

Lovely dress. I definitely put up with a little pain for sweet shoes. Especially since yours have memories and history attached to them!

those shoes are so pretty that they're worth every sacrifice, even cutting the toes off ;))

I have shoes that crunch my toes as well, but they were just a too-good-to-pass-up $8 pair that I found at a vintage shop. I think you have a better excuse than me to bear the pain!

"An award" from me too (like Jenni) can be found in my blog. :) You deserve several ones. ;)

Ray : Thank you!

TheClothesHorse : I was thinking of selling them for a while so that someone else could actually use and ake good care of them, but I just can't do it...

Mateo : might really have to consider som slight cutting yes :)

Elsie Wright : I know, sometimes you just have to get something even though it doesn't fit...

Amber : yes I will do some more, it just takes some time to prepare. I might alo do a makeup post since some have asked!

The Author of This Here Blog : thank you :)

Jenni & Desthea : Thank you lovelies! I will pass it on!

Oriane : thanks! It might be hard to fasten the hair and get it to stay up for long but you can actually do quite many tricks with short hair too...

Yet another thing we have in common. I'm all for things hurting in a good way. A little known fact about me is that I have trained in martial arts for ten years, so I know exactly what you are talking about.

Hey lady! I am new to this blog and really enjoying going through your archives...
I am a cobbler (shoe fixit lady) and you can get a spray that relaxes the leather (if they are leather only, sorry) in the places where it is tight. So great for vintage finds! It can stretch them about one half to one whole size.
