DARKER

(Well hello there photoshop!)

For me, refering to my post below about achieving a twenties look, the real 1920's girl always has dark brown or black hair and big brown eyes. This image I have is most likely due to the fact that the first that comes in mind is the twenties "it-girl" Clara Bow. I'm kind of feeling all that now. As I wrote below, it's nice with a little change every now and then - if we'd actually live in photoshop-world I would change my colours every other day (I'd love to go all red hair and blue eyes too). But since we dont' I guess I'll just have to invest in a wig (colouring is out of the question Im afraid, temtping as it is).
I'd really love to give it a go for real somtime ...

And because everything looks more vintage with sepia layers I'l throw in this pic too while I'm at it, even though I mostly look like a sailor girl from the early 30's in it and not like Clara Bow but ohwhatthehell.

Well actually sailorgirl is just fine since I'll sail away tonight for a few days to the other side of the Finnish Bay to celebrate a wedding (in a very very nice dress). Sailor ahoy!
Back next week, have a great weekend!

Baby! The dark tone is perfect for you, give it a try. And I do adore your smokey eyes. Wow!

Have a nice trip, girl.

Jamine : yes I like old fashion

Dotti : I used to have hair this dark when I was fifteen - I did like it and I'm tempted to do it every now and then but it's such a project getting it blond again... I'm always feeling dark hair in autumn!

Laura : Oh, mä toivon että se olisi ollut minä (koska olisin toivonnu olevani hereillä siihen aikaan ja olisi myös hienoa jos minukla olisi turkoosi jenkkirauta ! :) mutta ei ollut...

You've really managed to get that 20's look. Clara Bow is such a stunning lady. Her eye make-up is to die for.

That's funny you associate the style of that era with brown-eyed brunettes...Don't forget the blondes! *haha!*

Wigs are fun!

Mrs.Munster : I adore the twenties eye-makeup to even though I normally go for less.

Hope 505: Oh I have definitely not forgotten about Jean Harlow! But it's just that the first one that comes to mind for me is Clara Bow. I'm still all about platinum otherwise you know:)

WendyB: I'd like to use more wigs! I just have a lot of hair and find it hard to tuck in under one, but then again I've never invested in a good wig and hairnets and so on...

Nice job with photoshop! Maybe I'll try that too, but vice versa. I've always wanted to know how blond hair suits me :D

You look like a wonderful dark lady too :-)
Oh! I went to the Jamboree, it was so fun! You should definitely come next year :-)

How funny! As soon as I saw the first photo, I thought 'oh you look like Clara Bow!' .. so I'm glad you mentioned her! She is my permanent muse!

I think you look great as a brunette...
..although I have a friend who is blonde, went dark for a few weeks and she said she's never felt more miserable!

Ahoy indeed!
These look fantastic, outfit wise and super-photoshop-editing wise! Love it!
(And oh, I'm paying for my 'temporary' foray into darker hair. Bad old L'oreal. Never again!)

oh i love clara bow. i used to have lots of pictures of her in my room.

I had a deco night last night too! The only problem I found with the makeup is that the bow lips don't really work when you have a big grin plastered all over your face. You have to spend the night looking slightly sulky to keep that look.

the dark hair and eyes suit you great!

Ilona : Yup it's worth a try...Just play around with the curves and saturation and you're there, well, almost :)

Alicepleasance : I really think I will :D

Nuvovova : Great! Mission accomplished :)

Morgan : Thank you.

(R)evolver 74 : Oh thanks

Esme : As I wrote I always start getting an itch for daker as autumn comes...I coloured my hair sort of "brown sugar" last autumn and regretted it after one week, it took ages to get it blond-blonde again...

Betty Lou : Yes she is such an icon

SuperKawaiiMama : I know! But I stayed mystically quiet sipping on my wine and puffing oon my cig and didn't really move my tiny lips...ort of ;)

Sueper : Thanks :) I used to colour my hair as darks as yours when I was fifteen and it did look pretty good!

Oh gosh, but your blog is amazing! I love this look too, though the 20s look is one I have never, ever tried. Maybe I should! I am in love with the hairdo you did a couple of posts down, too, might have to give it a try this weekend. I will be back reading regularly, thank you for the kind comments on my blog! :D
