WHEN I WAS SEVENTEEN

Marked "Hellsinky September '99"
The pictures of me, a little before i turned 18, and my friend Izu in the park were taken by some Italian guy who stopped and asked us if he could snap some photos. He later sent them to me. He also sent me a picture of him on a vespa but that one I no longer have.

Look at all that hair of mine... I still have that 60's dress. Only somethign tells me I will not fit in to it anymore.

A couple of my best friends at the time, Izu and Maria. Izu is now an artist living in Berlin and Maria is the mother of a first grader. I developed the photo myself and accidentally flipped it, as you can see the text is wrong.

In France one summer before. I was there some weeks on a French course. Check out those sandals...!

Hippie shot of Maria.

Well this one you have seen before, earlier. I recently bumped in to a girl that had been a few grades under me, and had sung in the same school choir. She recognized me and said "you had a thing for butterflies back then". Well, um, yes, I guess I did.

Despite the fact you have been a absolute pretty teenager your hair looked so damaged then. How so?

Very pretty girl, but your look is so much more interesting now. :)

You look so cute in these pictures!

About the hair; it was about a meter long and I did a spiral perm about once or twice per year so it was very dry! MY hair is naturally rahter straight. But I didn't mind about the condition, sometimes I let it go a bit 'dready' even. I was a little hippie girl. But in the pic when I'm 16 it's not dry at all :)

First, you haven't aged much -- only your clothing, sense of style date you. Second, I too went through a hippie/butterfly phase around the same age -- I even had the same libret piercing! Thanks for bring back memories.

Simply stunning. I recognise you, but it's strange to see you so young. Still, I have no questions about wy that Italian stopped and took photos, you are a model! amazing. x

You were, and are still, a very pretty lady :)
Thanks for sharing these with us! It's a bit like a time capsule, its wonderful to see what the past held. I think I had very similar butterfly clips to your when i was young :)

It's unbelievable how people can change! But I have to say that I really prefer your actual style!

In that first picture you look a bit like Norma Jean.... Pretty and cute - you still are however, don't worry!

Wow, great pictures. Thanks for shearing them!

You look like Vanessa Paradis in the picture kissing your friend's cheek.
Do you prefer your actual self or back then?

Så ljuvliga fotografier. Den sista är otroligt vacker likaså ditt hår på de övriga bilderna, otroligt!

Love those pictures, thanks for sharing them. :) Did anyone ever care about the health of their hair when 17??? For me it was the year I pretty much solemnly thought of boys. *lol*

Pretty Damn Cute & Cup Of Kitten Tea : :) I think it is more common at that age to want to stand out like that - and at least here hte late nineties were quite much about goa trance, butterflies hippie-ism and such, there are still people now that are in to that too of course, but I think the wave was bigger then. My scar is pretty visible but hid under the "shadow " of my lower lip. My piercing was pretty well hid too, people I knew could sometimes ask me "oh, did you just get that?" years after I had it taken :) I'm also happy about that phase then, part of it's time, but never again!

Betti Bee: Oh you should see the other phases as a younger teenager then, I had black hair and all :D

Anonymous : it is my friends in the picture, not me! But she might resemble Vanessa Paradis a bit there yes perhaps :) I preferred myself then just like that and myself now like I am, of course. It would be pretty bad if it was the other way around.

Christina : yes exactly :D

Hahahaha!
